Couldn’t agree more. The managerial state should have “make yourself necessary” as its motto. In a post-liberal climate, only the “necessary” may be protected or entitled. Here in the UK we had the “key workers” and “essential” workers as the only ones who were allowed to use public transport during the most hysteric phase of the lockdowns. Everyone else, tough on you, stay at home and if you don’t have a laptop watch Netflix till your brain rots.
